INCREACE partner ETH Zurich at “STEPS towards sustainable plastics” conference, Lund

In October 2024, David Pfeffer from INCREACE partner ETH Zurich presented at the STEPS Towards Sustainable Plastics Conference in Lund, Sweden. The conference marked the culmination of an eight-year consortium project that brought together researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders to develop solutions for a more sustainable plastics industry.

Together with his supervisors Denise Reike and Catharina R. Bening, David presented findings from their research conducted within the INCREACE project. Their work examines how the current EU policy and regulatory landscape in the electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) sector influences the uptake of recycled plastics. The research identifies three key challenges: inconsistencies between legislative domains, gaps in the current policy mix, and coordination issues between value chain actors.
