High-tech plastic components in EEE

In this business case (BC1) we are exploring the possibility of using recycled PP for demanding plastic products with low dimensional tolerances and chemical resistance. The Bokashi composter plastic tap will be used as a demonstrator part to fulfil the objectives of this business case.

To evaluate whether ABS can be substituted for PP in a product with low dimensional tolerances.
To evaluate the differences between virgin and recycled PP in terms of achievable dimensional tolerances and to identify their origin.
To test if the sourcing and recycling solutions developed in WP1 and WP2 can improve the quality of the recyclate.
To develop a compounded grade based on the sourced materials and apply it to the production of Bokashi composter components.
To gain a better understanding of the long-term stability of PP recyclates in technical demanding applications.
